Mips Evolve Core

When a helmet is impacted at an angle, it can cause the head to rotate suddenly and violently. This is a common source of concussions and brain injury. The Mips® Evolve Core is a system designed to provide movement inside the helmet to help reduce rotational motion to the head in certain angled impacts, thereby lowering the risk of such injuries. The customizable solution makes it a perfect fit for a wide variety of helmets.

SIZING ADVICE

Use a soft measuring tape and measure the circumference of your head starting an inch above your eyebrows. If you are right in between sizes, most people choose the larger size as the FTA system will allow you to tighten the cage of the helmet.

VNT is a patented adjustable vent system that allows you to open and close top vents easily. This helps to retain or release heat depending on your circumstances. Whether you are hiking to some fresh pow, or enduring a freezing early run the VNT system helps you adjust!

The Fine Tune Adjustment or FTA dial helps you optimize your fit. You can easily loosen or tighten the feel of the helmet. You will still want to follow the sizing guide, but FTA can help if you are in between sizes or have a fit preference different than neutral.

AUDIO READY

All our helmets are audio ready. We designed the ear flaps to easily receive audio pucks. We recommend our Alta Helmet Headphones for the optimal experience.

Love the new MIPS helmet

Great snowboard helmet! secure fit, with adjustable dial in the back to tighten a bit. Vents work great and offer nice circulation when it heats up. The slight brim in front keeps out the snow from top of my goggles. Highly recommend.

Quality Ski Helmet

Comfortable, kept me warm without any hat underneath but the vents were life saving after a few runs down the mountain and in warmer temperatures. Strap was easy to use and adjust, and was hardly noticable. Would highly recommend this helmet.

I like it, and...

Fit and style are nice. Two issues I've noticed just from the one time I've skied:
1. With the vents closed, the helmet whistles quite a bit - didn't experience that with my previous helmet (Smith).
2. The adjustment knob in the back of the helmet is too close to the bottom of the helmet so that as I start to tighten it, I can't get my fingers on the knob because it hits the bottom of the helmet. Is there some other adjustment I'm missing?
